Students will have Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Monday off, 20.03.08 to 24.03.08, return on Tuesday 25.03.08 and work until the Friday. The Easter holiday is two weeks long and we begin the Summer Term on Monday 14 April.
Students will need to be very focused, especially those in examination years.
PTA News
On Sunday 6 July 2008 we are holding a ‘Party in the Park’ event at school. Lots of activities and a fun family day please make a note in your diaries.
Coming soon to the school website pages for past students and PTA. News would be welcome.
Ash Wednesday – Wednesday 6 February 2008
I would like to remind you that this is a staff training day. The Department of Children, Schools and Families have allocated an additional day this year so that schools can plan for curriculum change.
A superb send off!
The growing reputation of Mrs Allison and her team of year eleven Catering students was once again confirmed and increased by the superb buffet meal that they served to celebrate the retirement of Mrs Simpson.
Nearly a hundred people, including guests of honour and previous Head and Deputy of the Ursuline, Miss Penny and Miss Grey, enjoyed a menu that deserves a full description: dressed fresh salmon, baked gammon, Coronation chicken, broccoli and stilton quiche, potato, rice and pasta salads, coleslaw and green salad. Home-made bread rolls accompanied the main course. Puddings (for those with any room left!) of chocolate roulade, lemon pavlova and fresh fruit salad were offered along with cheese and biscuits and tea or coffee.
The quality of food, professional presentation and service was worthy of any restaurant and these students are still only half way through year eleven! Congratulations and many thanks to Mrs Allison and the girls - Claire Bonner, Roxanne Butcher, Victoria Gardner, Shivohn Hayward, Sian Hyde, Victoria Mayhook, Alice Newton, Alice Nuttall, Sophie O’Neill, Holly Piper, Claudia Plummer, Emily Rushton, Natalie Sizer, Kathryn White, Elise Wognum
for all their very hard work both during the day and in the evening.

Good luck with your ISAs.

Lourdes Easter 2008 HCPT Group 26
At Easter I am traveling to Lourdes with Group 26 as a volunteer. Group 26 is a local group of the HCPT that takes disabled children to Lourdes every year. This will be my first year going to Lourdes and I am very much looking forward to it. I have had some experience of caring for disabled children, having helped with weekend camps and other voluntary activities. I hope in the future to be a special needs teacher.
It costs over £500 to take a child to Lourdes and as a volunteer I am expected to help raise funds towards the costs. I would be grateful if you could help me either by sponsoring me, making a donation or buying a raffle ticket. Remember every penny counts! In anticipation of your help, thank you.
